C Language for Business Applications

Description

This course provides an introduction to the C language and the skills to write simple programs using character-based input and output. The emphasis is on the use of C language constructs, not on program design and problem solving.

Audience

Experienced programmers who need an introduction to the C language.

Prerequisite

Experience with a structured programming language such as COBOL or PL/1.

Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • declare and assign values to simple variables
  • write information to the terminal screen or text files
  • read information from the keyboard or text files
  • use arithmetic, relational, and logical operators
  • use loops to create iterative processes
  • create functions that receive arguments and return values
  • use arrays and pointers to manipulate information
