Introduction to Computer Programming Using C

Description

This course teaches general programming concepts while providing an introduction to the C language. The lectures will emphasize program design, problem solving, programming style, and readable code. The lab work will demonstrate simple C programs using character-based input and output.

Audience

Entry-level programmers with limited experience in programming or the C language.

Prerequisite

None.

Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • declare and assign values to simple variables
  • write information to the terminal screen and text files
  • read information from the keyboard and text files
  • use arithmetic, relational, and logical operators
  • use loops to create iterative processes
  • create functions that receive arguments and return values
  • use arrays and pointers to manipulate information
