Application Programming Using VisualAge for Java

Description

This course teaches the Java Programmer how to create Java applications in the VisualAge environment. Using hands-on labs, the student will learn to create animations, use multi-threading, and create Java user interfaces containing buttons, text areas, panels, and other objects.

Audience

Programmers and designers planning to develop Java applications in the VisualAge environment.

Prerequisite

Basic knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming.

Objectives

Student will be able to use VisualAge to:

  • incorporate graphics and animation into web pages
  • understand the basics of multithreading
  • use the main components of the Abstract Window Toolkit (AWT)
  • develop interactive web pages and client-server applications
  • write Java applets
