Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB)

Description

Through a combination of instructor-led discussions and hands-on workshops, the course demonstrates the strategies and techniques for developing and incorporating JavaBeans in the development of client and server-side applications using VisualAge for Java.

Audience

Application developers, programmers, and other technical professionals using VisualAge for Java with an interest in the development of applications using JavaBeans and Enterprise JavaBeans.

Prerequisite

Introduction to Java Programming or equivalent experience.

Objectives

Student will be able to use VisualAge to:

  • understand the benefits and usability of JavaBeans and the role of introspection
  • illustrate the role of visual and non-visual (or logic) JavaBeans
  • demonstrate the creation, testing, and debugging of visual and non-visual beans within VisualAge for Java environment
  • configure VisualAge for Java environment to support beans and EJBs
  • depict the use of advanced user interface beans in AWT and use layout managers
  • utilize VisualAge tools for copying, morphing, and editing bean properties
  • discuss the development of graphical user interface applications using Visual Composition Editor
  • deploy applications that use beans
  • use JDBC and data access beans in VisualAge for Java
  • understand EJB architecture and the role of entity and session beans
  • configure and execute EJB server within VisualAge for Java
