Description

This course teaches both the programming interface and the techniques that can be used to write procedures in PERL. (Practical Extraction and Report Language). The format includes lectures and hands-on exercises.

Audience

Web developers, designers, and system administrators who want to add scripts to their web pages or to automate common tasks.

Prerequisite

Windows 95/98/NT or UNIX Utilities and Commands - knowledge of awk is useful but not mandatory.

Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • use PERL techniques and commands
  • write scripts to perform various user and administrative tasks
