Description

This course introduces the JavaScript language, programming concepts, and advanced features built into JavaScript and Netscape/IE browsers. Students learn the use of customized JavaScript to validate forms, provide feedback to users, create dialog boxes, and insert time and date stamps. The format includes lectures and lab work.

Audience

Web masters and developers interested in developing JavaScript programs to create dynamic and interactive JavaScript-enabled web pages.

Prerequisite

HTML or equivalent experience

Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • interpret JavaScript expressions
  • add JavaScript to a web page
  • use the string and date features
  • use the various features available with the alert box
  • use JavaScript with HTML form controls, including text, text areas, check boxes, radio buttons and select boxes and their associated events
  • use the validation features of JavaScript
  • understand the properties associated with links using JavaScript
  • manipulate windows using JavaScript
